Working with an Indian studio, from anywhere

We are two founders and a small senior team in New Delhi. Most of what we build is for people we have never stood in a room with, and it has not been the interesting part of any project so far.

We already do this

Clients in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom, none of whose offices we have visited. That is not a position we are arguing for; it is a description of how the work has actually gone. The systems were specified, built, handed over and run, and the distance never became the problem anyone expected it to be.

What makes it work is not a process document. It is that the people you talk to are the people writing the code. There is no account manager relaying a requirement to a delivery team in another building, which is where most offshore work actually breaks — not in the time zone, in the translation.

How the time difference actually works

India runs at UTC+5:30. Against the UK and Europe that is a modest offset — our afternoon is your morning, and a shared working window exists without anyone being generous about it. Against North America the overlap sits at the end of our day and the start of yours, which is narrower but real, and it is where calls get scheduled.

The honest version: an eight-hour offset is a feature when work is specified well and a liability when it is not. A vague brief costs you a day per round trip. So we spend longer on the scope than most studios would, because that is the part the time zone punishes.

What you own

Everything. The source, the repositories, the infrastructure and the accounts are in your name, and the handover is built into the project rather than negotiated at the end of it. No proprietary runtime you would have to keep paying for, no piece deliberately left undocumented to make leaving expensive.

This matters more at distance than it does locally. When the team is in the next suburb, a bad handover is an inconvenience. When they are eight time zones away, it is the whole risk — and the answer is to remove the leverage rather than to promise not to use it.

When someone does need to be in a room

Sometimes it genuinely helps: a factory floor that has to be understood rather than described, a workshop with the people who will actually use the system, a demo in front of a board. We are not going to pretend those are the same over a call.

They are also rarer than the industry suggests, and they are scheduled rather than continuous. The rest of it — the specifying, the building, the reviews, the handover — has not required anyone to board a plane, and we would rather say that plainly than sell you visits that do not change the outcome.

What we build

Custom software, CRM and operations platforms, AI automation and agents, websites and storefronts, and real-time 3D. Each has a page explaining what it involves and the builds that prove it.

Questions we get asked

Do you work with clients outside India?

Routinely. We have delivered for clients in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom without ever visiting their offices. The systems work, the handovers happen, and nobody spent a week in transit to make it so.

Who would we actually be talking to?

One of the two founders, from the first call onwards. oathDevs is a small senior studio rather than an agency with an account layer, so the person who scopes your build is the person who builds it.

Do we own the code?

Yes, entirely. The code, the infrastructure and the accounts are yours, and the handover is part of the build rather than a negotiation at the end of it. Nothing is held back as leverage.

How does the time difference work?

India is UTC+5:30. That puts a working afternoon here against a working morning in the UK and Europe, and an evening here against a morning on the east coast of North America. Calls get scheduled into that overlap, which is how the existing overseas work already runs.
